Choice magazine and Consumer Reports provide the best comparison tests of the Energizer e2 Lithium batteries. Both publications compare the Energizer e2 with more than a dozen other batteries, but Consumer Reports tests only disposable batteries. PC World, PC Magazine and USA Today perform smaller comparison tests of the Energizer e2 Lithium batteries. We also find about two dozen useful owner-written reviews at Amazon.com.

For digital cameras, reviews consistently find Energizer e2 Lithium the best of the disposable batteries. They cost more than most disposables, but comparison tests show they last so long that each photo costs much less to shoot. Recovery time and flash power are also excellent. Lithium batteries are light, work well at low temperatures and have a shelf life of 10 years. The e2 batteries come in AA and AAA sizes, but they aren’t recommended for low-drain devices such as remote controls or wall clocks. The main drawbacks are cost and the fact that lithium batteries give little or no warning before the charge runs out. For other electronics, reviews recommend the more cost-effective Sanyo eneloop rechargeable (*est. $10 per four-pack), which come pre-charged.
